The Theological Study Year in Jerusalem at the Dormition Abbey is celebrating its 50th anniversary with special events from 1 to 5 April. The theological study year offers theologians a free year in Jerusalem and thus unrivalled insights into the history and current relevance of Christianity.
As part of the conference "Meister Eckhart and the Church", Dr Jörg Voigt, consultant for the Middle Ages at the RIGG, will be speaking on the topic "Between the establishment process and averting danger. The pontificate of Pope John XXII (+ 1334) and the case of Meister Eckhart" at the Catholic Academy in Bavaria in Munich. The conference is being organised in cooperation with the Meister Eckhart Society.

As every year, the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Christliche Archäologie provides financial support for Master's theses and dissertations.
It has been 1100 years since Ulrich became Bishop of Augsburg. The diocese of Augsburg is undoubtedly one of the most traditional dioceses in Germany, and probably also one of the oldest, as Christianity was already gaining a foothold in the Roman cities - Augusta Vindelicorum - in the 4th century, even if in this case the evidence only dates back to the 6th century. Ulrich is therefore not the beginning, but merely the new beginning of a tradition that already seemed to be dying.
Following the study trips to Rome and the Holy Land organised by the Young Forum (up to 40 years of age) of the Görres Society, a trip to Dresden from 13 to 17 March is now on the agenda. This is an opportunity not to be missed.
The long-established Wissenschaftliche Buchgesellschaft - also known as the "Darmstädter Buchgesellschaft" - is insolvent. On 2 January, Herder took over part of the WBG. This means that at least one part has been saved.
The wellknown international Catholic magazine "Communio" has had an online platform with its own current articles since 7 January. Now that "Communio" is published by Herder, the magazine will gain an even greater reach with the online supplement. Prof Jan Heiner Tück, editor-in-chief, and former RIGG member Dr Benjamin Leven (photo), who left the editorial team of Herderkorrespondenz in the summer, are responsible for the online edition.
The Diocesan Museum on Limburg's "Domberg" surprises with the depth of its content, the diversity and exclusivity of its exhibits, the splendour of its treasures and the practical and museum-like savvy of those responsible, namely the director Matthias Kloft.
