The Diocese of Fulda invites you to the anniversary conference 10 Years Gangolf-Schrimpf-Fellowship on 13/14 February 2025 in the Auditorium maximum of the Faculty of Theology. The Fulda monastery goes back to Winfried-Bonifatius and is the nucleus of the mission among the Hessians and far beyond.
The sensational essay by Prof. Dr Christian Hecht in the Ratzinger homage ‘Historische Intuitionen’ (Historical Intuitions) of the Roman Institute of the Görres Society, in which he proves the false liturgical orientation of the Sistine Chapel, has now found its way into the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in abridged form.
On 22 January at 6.15 pm, Prof. Dr Rainald Becker will give his inaugural lecture as full professor at the Chair of European Regional History and Bavarian and Swabian Regional History at the University of Augsburg's Faculty of Phil. on the topic of ‘Endstation Sehnsucht - Bayern in Rom’.
On 24 January at 5 p.m., Prof. Dr Helmut Hoping will give his farewell lecture at the University of Freiburg i.Br. (Kollegiengebäude I, Aula) on the topic of ‘Mind and Universe. The Enigma of Consciousness’. Hoping is a full professor of dogmatics and liturgical science and has taken part in the two RIGG liturgical conferences ‘Operation am lebenden Objekt’ and ‘Kult des Volkes’. He is also known for his work in the Ratzinger Schülerkreis.
The special exhibition ‘Carpaccio, Bellini and the Early Renaissance in Venice’, including the altarpieces by Vittore Carpaccio, can be seen at the Staatsgalerie in Stuttgart until 2 March. Altarpieces played a central role in Catholic mass practice until they were abolished following the introduction of popular altars after the Second Vatican Council.
Every year, the Gesellschaft für Frankfurter Geschichte e.V. offers remarkable lectures on Frankfurt's city history, currently on the topic of ‘Frankfurt in the Weimar Republic’. The lectures usually take place in the Archaeological Museum Frankfurt (former Carmelite monastery).
The Geschichtsverein Rottenburg-Stuttgart knows how to formulate titles. The next conference in Weingarten Monastery from 14 to 16 March 2025 will focus on "Change of conviction in historical perspective".
The traditional bookshop Bernhard Bercker in the Lower Rhine pilgrimage town of Kevelaer has a tribute to Pope Benedict XVI in its shop window. The commemorative publication was published by the RIGG under the title ‘Historische Intuitonen’ (Historical Intuitions) by the publishing house Herder. It was observed and photographed by Christian Dick from Neuss.
