The Institute
The Institute

Founded in 1888, the Roman Institute of the Görres Society (RIGG) is the well-known academic centre and foreign institute of the Bonn-based Görres Society.
Donations And Foundation

In July, t4he Austrian Dr Christine Grafinger, a member of the RIGG from 2011 to 2018 while working at the Vatican Library, was admitted to the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences. This international body of about 30 scholars meets once a year in Rome. This includes former RIGG member Emilia Hrabovec and current RIGG members Elisabeth Kieven and Antal Molnár.

Ms Grafinger has contributed to RIGG on various occasions (see now in the Activity Report 2011-2022).

From 1998 to 2009 Cardinal Walter Brandmüller was President, since then the Premonstratensian Father Bernard Ardura has been in office. For some time now, the Committee has been prominent with a wealth of conferences and publications on a wide variety of topics.
