The Institute

Founded in 1888, the Roman Institute of the Görres Society (RIGG) is the well-known academic centre and foreign institute of the Bonn-based Görres Society.
Donations And Foundation

On Tuesday, 14.11.2023, the classical archaeologist Dr Sascha Priester - consultant for archaeology at the RIGG - and the New Testament scholar Cedric Büchner will form the lecturer duo. Using short lectures with archaeological information on the exhibits of the "Museum for Casts of Classical Works of Art" and selected passages from philosophical and literary texts from antiquity, they will take the participants on a journey into the world of ancient images and ideas - and offer the opportunity for exchange and discussion following the expert talk.
