On 4 June, a study day on the founder of the Roman Institute of the Görres Society (1888) and founder of the Pontifical Institute for Christian Archaeology (1925), the Luxembourg clergyman Johann Peter Kirsch (1861-1941), will take place at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland. The day is being organised by Ingo Schaaf (Rome/Fribourg) and Isabelle Mossong (Munich/Luxembourg). Kirsch was Professor of Church History in Fribourg until 1932. He died in Rome and is buried in Campo Santo Teutonico.
